Seeking closure after a devastating breakup, Chloe contacts an agency who send doppelgängers to the heartbroken to issue plastic apologies, however the interaction with her “ex” takes an unexpected turn.
Seth, a hired actor, performs an apology for Chloe’s ex-fiancé’s wrongdoings, but she soon realises this unusual service isn’t for her. Upon leaving, Seth breaks character to cheer her up; offering heartfelt advice and space for Chloe to talk about her grief. They slowly warm to each other and decide to go on a date, although Seth’s motivations aren’t as chivalrous as they appear.
